Volt Data is an Australian data company specialising in Consumer Data Right (CDR) electricity data. We make it simple for businesses to access, understand, and act on energy consumption information, turning raw meter data into powerful insights.

Why We Created Volt Data

The pattern was consistent across every industry we worked with: energy brokers wasting time chasing client bills, lenders unable to establish usage patterns due to missing data, ESG managers spending months collecting data across dozens of properties and multiple retailers before they could even start their real work.

We realised the problem wasn't people. It wasn't processes. It was access to data.

In 2022, Australia's Consumer Data Right (CDR) extended to the energy sector. Suddenly, with customer consent, electricity usage and billing data could be accessed digitally, securely and instantly, just like Open Banking transformed financial data. But the CDR infrastructure providers weren't building solutions for professionals who needed the data most: brokers, lenders, ESG teams and consultants.

So we created Volt Data, a platform that connects directly to Australia's CDR infrastructure, providing consented access to household and business electricity data.
